Founder and Competition Director
Competition Director – Steve Young, CWJ, FWS, CSW, CWAS, IWS
Steve is a graduate of the American Wine Society Wine Judge Certification Program. He has been active in judging at wine competitions across the country since 2009. While Steve completed the French Wine Scholar and Italian Wine Specialist programs with high honors, he enjoys the native Muscadine and fruit wines of his home state of Alabama. Steve is excited about the growth of wineries in the state and the introduction of Pierce's Disease resistant vines. After completion of the Introductory Sommelier Course, Steve currently is pursuing the Certified Sommeliers certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers He currently resides in Huntsville and enjoys traveling to wine regions to increase his wine knowledge.
Chief Judge – Kristen Lindelow, CWJ, FWS, CSW, CWAS
A graduate of the American Wine Society (AWS) Wine Judge Certification Program, Kristen has been judging wine competitions across the U.S. for a number of years, including the Denver International Wine Competition, Indy International, and Wines of the South. She recently returned from judging for Concours de Feminalise wine competition in Paris, France. Kristen has also achieved certification as a French Wine Scholar, a Certified Specialist of Wine, WSET II, and California Wine Appellation Specialist. Kristen is a Trustee for the AWS Educational Foundation and is employed by Church Street Wine Shoppe in Huntsville, AL as Wine Educator. The most fun she has with wine is leading workshops and now owns and runs the Tennessee Valley Wine Academy –for Wine education. Uncorked.
